Las Vegas chewed me up and spat me out!! $200 on red. Did I win? What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. My money included it seems!!!!!!!!!!!

So back to business:

Slightly strange comments in The Birmingham Mail from Steve Bruce today. He says that Jack Grealish needs to be a ‘better professional` and to ‘stop hitting the headlines for the wrong reasons`. Makes sense if it was last season so does this mean there has been the wrong attitude from Jack preventing him from being picked recently? Read more: Jack The Lad Told To Knuckle Down

Bruce not happy then! ‘To ask any player to play twice in 48 hours is difficult. If both teams are playing then it`s a bit different.’ Worryingly adding ‘But we have shot ourselves in the foot by playing two games in 48 hours.’ and … ‘The reasons baffle me to be perfectly honest. It`s to do with the church, isn`t it?’ Read more: Steve Bruce Left Baffled By Decision

I`ve been searching for news on Andre Green to find out why he`s not played in the last few games following his return from injury. Turns out he is still struggling with that injury, the hamstring to be exact, which he picked up late on after a stunning performance v Bristol City. (You might remember a stunner of a shot from him that hit the woodwork?) Villa’s pipe dream goes for a Burton. Villa’s unlikely dream of making it to the play-offs finally ended last Saturday. Still mathematically possible but the chances took a huge leap towards vanishing-point. Things looked great for Villa on three minutes when King Kodjia opened the scoring but his early departure through injury ended Villa’s goal threat. This left Villa needing an immaculate defensive performance to secure the points. Unfortunately Villa didn’t quite manage it. On the hour Burton overloaded Villa’s notorious right flank, someone failed to track the overlapping player, and veteran Lloyd Dyer lashed home in spectacular style to bring joy to the Brewers’ faithful. On the day Burton deserved no less. Read more: Something For The Weekend (571)

Manager Steve Bruce has been reflecting on Villa Park celebrating its 120th birthday and our gaffer has stated it continues to be ‘both immaculate and iconic.’ Easter Saturday 1897 fell a week after Villa secured a League and FA Cup double – beating Blackburn Rovers three nil at Aston Lower Grounds – and the anniversary falls on Monday, but to celebrate 120 years the club have produced a special News & Record for Saturday which will feature 120 significant moments in the course of Villa Park’s 120 year existence. It’s being reported that Doncaster Rovers are close to securing the permanent capture of Aston Villa loanee Niall Mason. Mason has spent the season out on loan at the Keepmoat Stadium, more than playing his part in their return to life in League One at the first time of asking as he’s made 37 appearances in total for the club and manager Darren Ferguson. Thought for the day: ‘I bought my friend an elephant for his room. He said ‘Thanks.’ I said, ‘Don’t mention it.’
