Brought in to make Gabby look prolific? Not totally sure we need another striker but according to The Birmingham Mail we are interested in 28-year-old PAOK striker Stefanos Athansiadis. The report doesn`t sound that promising if I`m honest… and though his goals to games ratio across that period of time is encouraging, he failed to score a single league goal last season. The ongoing speculation linking Tommy Elphick with a move across the City doesn’t seem to be slowing down and now Sunderland have entered the mix. It was being reported over the weekend that Jordan Amavi’s frustration with Sevilla for their failed medical claim had not subsided yet. L’Equipe were reporting that such was Amavi’s, and Aston Villa’s annoyance, with Sevilla’s actions that the player had this week undergone two separate specialist medicals on his knee which concluded there was nothing wrong with him following his knee injury a couple of years ago, and Amavi has now requested the full medical report from Sevilla. Aston Villa have announced this evening that midfielder Carles Gil has returned to Deportivo La Coruna on a season long loan spell.
