Martin O’Neill has told Sky Sports that he thinks it is just a matter of time before James Milner gets and England call up and says the player has a fantastic heart. O’Neill said: ‘I am naturally very pleased for James after what Fabio said. That will have given him a further boost of confidence. Is he ready for an England call-up? I am sure in time that will come. He has got the ability. He feels he has got much more to give and much more to learn. But he is making very good progress at the moment. I accept the point that if Fabio says anything about any player he likes, then it is raging headlines.’ Full quotes: Villa Boss Says Milner Has A ‘Fantastic Heart’

Martin O’Neill says he has heard nothing from Real Madrid following rumours that they had an interest in Villa winger Ashley Young. He told AVTV: Simply put, he’s not for sale. He’s just signed a new contract with us. I think this is exactly where he should be in this stage of his development and we’re hoping we can all develop together. That’s our aim. But I suppose the people at the football club and Ashley himself should take some reflected glory in it [the story], if in fact there is anything in it. But remember, we are getting to the old silly season. Not that the story is silly, just that we are going to be linked with a host of players ourselves and some of our players will be linked with other football clubs too.’

Martin O’Neill has spoken about the UEFA Cup clash with CSKA Moscow telling the official site: ‘I think the draw is very tough. They won all four games in their group and I think it will be exceptionally difficult. When it comes round, we will give it plenty of thought.’ Full article, including MON’s call for a winter break: Click Here

Luke Young is looking for some Christmas cheer and hopes Villa can push to 3rd place in the Premier League. He said in the Express & Star: ‘If we can win we would go third with Manchester United away in Japan, that would be lovely and almost unbelievable at this stage. It would be an early Christmas. It is exciting. In the squad we are not getting too carried away because there is such a long, long way to go in the season. But at the minute the league table doesn`t lie, we are fourth, having a real good go and we are winning games.’

Have a great weekend one and all.

Thought for the day: I was reading this book today, The History of Glue. I couldn’t put it down.
