Ahead of yesterday’s all too predictable loss to Newcastle United, manager Steve Bruce gave his usual injury updates but two players figured highly in that. The long forgotten it seems, Libor Kozak and equally pretty forgotten Micah Richards were the players in question as I know I have to do something today following a lazy weekend, I’m going to avoid game stuff for as long as I possibly can. The Football Le ague have released the key dates for the coming 2017/18 season, and the all important fixtures will be released on Wednesday June 21 at 9am. With the curtain not yet closed on the season of 2016/17, the make ups for the Championship, League One and League Two are still to be completely confirmed as some will have hopes of changing their futures in the remaining fixtures but all three EFL leagues will kick off the new season over the weekend of Friday August 4 to Sunday August 6 for the coming season. Aston Villa’s Under 23 side lost out two nil in their most recent Premier League 2 encounter against Stoke City. With most eyes on the first team last night, Kevin MacDonald’s charges headed to Walsall’s Banks’s Stadium to host the Potters but a goal in each half from Tyrese Campbell decided the three points. Aston Villa have confirmed that the FA Youth Cup tie against Manchester City this midweek will be screened on the clubs’ Facebook channel. The sixth round clash takes place on Wednesday February 22 and it kicks off at Villa Park at 7pm. Read more: FAYC – Manchester City Tie To Be Screened
