Shaun Wright-Phillips will not move in the summer and will turn down any offers from Aston Villa according to the Chelsea winger. Martin O’Neill tried to sign him during January either permanently or on loan but the England international wanted to stay and fight for his place (and pick up massive wages?!!?) at Chelski. ‘I am settled in the south completely and I see myself living here for the rest of my life. I’ve been working hard all year. I’ve been keeping my head down and finding my feet the longer I’ve been here.’ Full article: Chelsea Winger Will Snub Aston Villa

Milan Baros has spoken to L’Equipe of his time at Villa and says ‘The first season at Villa was the best,’ But then said of the lack of ambition despite the promises made to him. Doug et al making false promises? Don’t believe that for a second! ‘They promised other players to build a big team. Some came but it was not enough. I was disappointed with that. Coming back from the World Cup, I knew I would leave. In the end at Villa, I didn’t feel any trust. People had a different sight on football than mine. I never said anything against them, we just didn’t see things the same way.’

The Villa are offering a 5 match season ticket deal. They are calling it ‘High Five’ which gives you tickets for: Liverpool, Everton, Wigan, Portsmouth and Sheffield United. Not sure why Arsenal isn’t in with that, or doesn’t high six sound as good! :-p Prices start at £30 (under 16s) and £90 (adults) The offer gives full Season Ticket benefits including: 10% off in Aston Villa merchandise stores, Free claret and blue magazine, Free yearbook, Exclusive access to the Holte Suite before and after a game (if you are early enough that is!) Last 5 Season Tickets are available until March 16.

Thought for the day: ’24 hours in a day, 24 beers in a case. Coincidence? I think not!’
