Bowyer is coming, oh no he isn’t. In fact, if you read the last Villa Times, replace the name Malbranque for Bowyer and hey presto, you’ve saved me 2 mins!! To be fair, this isn’t the clubs fault, at least they are doing us a favour and letting us know the rumours are wrong. Wouldn’t it just be great to see ‘the list’ though?! Last article I read said we now have £10million. Hmmm!

Villa may have targeted Everton goalkeeper Richard Wright to replace Postma who is being linked to a move to Spain. 27 year old Wright has suffered from injuries since his £3.5million move from Arsenal in 2002. The Baggies are also said to be interested.

The Sun says Villa are winning the race for Kevin Phillips for £1million (he is out of contract next summer I believe). A £2million bid was rejected in January. For a million he would be an excellent addition to the thin squad, for one thing the chap scores – which is always nice from a striker, he might remind the other buggers what they are meant to be doing.

Youth striker Gabriel Agbonlahor wants to go out on loan next season to get first team experience.

Doug’s wife has thanked the Villa fans for their get well cards and good wishes.

Peter Taylor has said he wouldn’t stand in the way of Hull and Northern Ireland striker Stuart Elliot. Villa have been linked following his 25 goal haul last season. Taylor said: ‘I want to say that if ever an offer was received that was good for the club and good for the player, we would always consider it. I would not stand in the way of a player if it was good for his future.’

Fixtures for next season are released tomorrow morning.

Thought for the day: Change is inevitable, except from vending machines!
