Unoial Villa News…

Martin O’Neill has admitted that despite his arrival and the arrival of a new owner in Randy Lerner, some fans are still ‘reserving judgement’ on the ‘revolution’ at Villa Park. Click Here

Gabby Agbonlahor has said ‘It’s weird to hear the fans singing my name, but it means a lot to me. I’m just surprised they manage to pronounce it properly. I couldn’t have imagined anything like this at the start of the season. I was hoping to play a few games, but to have started every one and not been brought off is brilliant. Now I want to keep it going and when I hear the fans singing, it makes me even more determined to do that bit more for them. It really makes a difference and gives me a lift.’

Villa have been dealt a blow with the news that Thomas Sorensen has to have exploratory surgery tomorrow to assess the full extent of his knee injury after he was ‘taken out’ of the game by the disgusting Middlesbrough defender Emanuel Pogatetz on Saturday. Gareth Southgate was outraged at the penalty against them, shame he wasn’t more concerned at the thuggish challenge by his own player eh? Full article: Click Here

Martin O’Neill promises Villa will be all guns blazing against bogey team Manchester City: Villa To Pick Bogeys and Win

Vital Villa asked where would you like to see away fans sit at Villa Park? 53% wanted away fans in the Witton Lane upper, in the corner. 13% said the Witton Lane lower.
5% wanted them in the North Stand Upper and only 7% wanted them to remain where they are usually seated in the North Stand Lower. That left 22% suggesting we put them in the car park!

Aston Villa have confirmed that the club is no longer a PLC and that it was de-listed on 17 October 2006. The sole shareholder of Aston Villa Limited is Reform Acquisitions Limited.

Martin O’Neill has allowed Lee Hendrie to stay on loan at Stoke for a third month, surely that spells the end for the midfielder at Villa? After all, it isn’t as if we’ve got that many choices to play with due to our small squad is it?

He also said of Newcastle winger James Milner: ‘And yes, James Milner has been a target of mine in the past and I would like to see him at Villa Park.’ Milner was linked to a swap deal with Steven Davis recently but I can’t see that, we want to build a squad not continually weaken it.

Meanwhile, I’ve got some food shopping to do. Jonathan Fear is quoted as saying: ‘I’ve run out of fruit and also need some nuts.’ Proof if it was needed, Fear is a fruit and nut case.

Thought for the day: 99% of lawyers give the rest a bad name.

  • Not one to blow my own trumpet, but I am taking full credit for the Gabi Agbonlahor song. Every now and again I run up to the back of the Holte top tier, start a song, and then go back down to my seat near the front to listen to the results of my efforts.

  • i am at the top of the holte tomorrow so if i hear you singing it i will help you along. petrov score, petrov score, once you get one youll get more, he comes from bulgaria, hes great in the area, so score petrov score. like it!!

  • Hope that this singing of the ‘Petrov Score’ ditty, easily the equal of anything that Lennon and McCartney ever concocted, has the desired effect, and that our Bulgarian ace finally breaks his goalscoring duck for the claret and blues.

  • His disgust at himself, is plainly visable he realy needs it, when he bangs that goal in I expect to hear the cheers and chants up here in North Wales. UTV

  • Definitely think that the end of lil Lee’s VP career is close at hand now. Cant see him forcing his way back into MON’s thoughts.
