Sheffield United midfielder Phil Jagielka is once again being linked to Aston Villa. DOL also targeted the United player last season but nothing came of it.

Unconfirmed reports are suggesting that Villa have agreed to pay £8million for Celtic’s Bulgarian international Stilian Petrov.

The Sunday Mercury claimed: ‘Randy Lerner is putting together an incredible £100 million sponsorship deal aimed at providing Aston Villa with a core transfer budget for the next decade.’ and is also looking at boosting Villa’s profile worldwide.

Former Villa right back Ulises De La Cruz has joined the Reading on a free transfer after leaving Villa Park at the end of last season. The 32-year-old Ecuador international has signed a one year deal with the club.
