Unoial Villa News…

The Darren Bent saga will no doubt carry on until January. He`ll no doubt then be sold. Looks like Paul Lambert just doesn`t see him as his sort of player. Shame the conspiracies are being made up to cover it all though. It suggests our manager is a patsy and that the board pick players. Sorry, no chance would Lambert stand for that. He`d not sit for it either. I digress, for more on that. Today`s story links him with QPR. See: QPR’s Arry Ready To Take Bent? Would You Sell Him?

Steve Wade: It was a chastening reminder, all round. Sadly, despite the addition of the essential three points, there was not much relief to be had by contemplating the Premiership table, and although the extra points provided some relief, other teams’ games in hand, had the opposite effect. So, as might be expected the debate amongst the fans returned to the subject of Darren Bent – a player Lambert both admires and loves, apparently. See: Something For The Weekend (404)

Assistant Academy manager Steve Burns couldn’t hide his delight tonight after seeing the boys run out 5-1 winners away against Sporting. Speaking to the Official Site a short time ago, Burns hailed the performance as being one ‘in the top three I’ve seen in my 25 years at the club.’ See:

Paul Lambert has said that although QPR will be on a high following the arrival of Harry Redknapp, we’ll be more than up for the game. Speaking to the Official Site ahead of this weekends game, Lambert said the players would be hugely up for the game so we can build on the Reading victory and pull ourselves a touch further away from the bottom three. Thought for the day: ‘I was walking through a building site earlier when I saw a sign that said ‘Hard hats must be worn at all times’. I thought ‘Why?’ Then it hit me like a ton of bricks.. ‘
