Unoial Villa News…

Great news… well I think it is anyway, that said, I don’t get out much! Anyway, General Charles Krulak has agreed to do an ‘interview’ with Vital Villa. In all seriousness, the Dennis Mortimer interview* a while back was such a success that I’m delighted we have someone else who has agreed to take a grilling! It isn’t everyday you get a General on the sites after-all. Full article + link to the Dennis Mortimer interview: Click Here

Martin O’Neill says that Villa are keeping a close eye on Lee Hendrie and admits there is a 24 hour re-call clause in his contract with Stoke. Jlloyd Samuel is back in training and targeting a Christmas return. The full back said: ‘It’s great to be back with the rest of the lads, after spending so much time in the gym on my own. It would be great to be back in the Premiership by Christmas but I will have to work hard to win my place back.’ Full article: Click Here

Liam Ridgewell has resumed training today following his illness over the weekend that meant he had to miss the game v Blackburn. Ridge had been an ever present but will he be able to walk straight back into the team after Martin Laursen pulled off a man of the match performance? Maybe Ridgewell will be put on the left and Wilfred Bouma gets dropped to the bench? All questions and no answers!

Gareth Barry says he is looking to add to his five goals so far this season adding: ‘I thought about the one I missed against Leicester and obviously you want to learn from your mistakes. I thought I’d go back to square-one and once I saw him move, it was straight down the middle. As he went down he tried to get back, but he couldn’t. I’m delighted to have five goals on the board by early November. A lot can happen yet this season, but hopefully I can keep the goals coming. Full article: Click Here

McGrath, who had a heroes reception at half time during the Fulham game, had hundreds of fans turn up to his signing session at the Villa shop in Birmingham and will now make a return to his footballing home for more adulation!

Villa new boy Chris Sutton says he is ‘delighted’ that he has signed for the mighty claret and blue. Well, having slummed it last year, he must be ecstatic really! The young midfielder said: ‘With the way things went for me last season, I’m not entirely happy with the way things are going at the minute. I think I can do a lot better and that’s what I’m looking to do. Hopefully with every game I’m getting sharper and getting to where I want to be. I spoke to the manager and I know myself that I’m not playing as well as I can so I know there’s definitely room for improvement.’ Full article: Click Here
