The words hog and wash spring to mind? It has been whispered a few times, must admit I was up in Liverpool last weekend and the taxi drivers were all full of it. Personally, I just can’t see it. See what? Martin O’Neill to Liverpool when the fat Spanish waiter is sacked. For one thing, can Liverpool afford to pay off Rafa? Very much doubt it. For another, why would MON go to a club in so much debt and seemingly in turmoil with the fans at odds with the owners and the owners at odds with the owners?!?! Martin O’Neill has told the official site that the international break will give James Collins time to recover from his groin injury. He also says Heskey’s injury isn’t a long term thing. He said: ‘Emile came off at half-time during the West Ham game with a back problem and James saw the game through but had a scan on his groin afterwards. It showed something and it was particularly sore. We think the break – for a couple of weeks – has come at a decent time for James. And we’ll see where we are after.’ Both players have been omitted from their international team squads.
