1) When did you become a Villa fan and why?

I was around 6 or 7 maybe, it was either Euro ’88 or Italia ’90, some Irish player must have been at Villa (Tony Cascarino?!), it’s all a blur!

2) What is your favourite Villa moment of all time/most treasured memory?

The League Cup wins in the 90’s will always stand out, but I’d have to say my first game at Villa Park, I think 1997 vs Chelsea. Lost 0-2 but a great experience.

3) If you could bring back a former Villa player into this team (at his peak) who would it be and why?

There’s a few I could think of. McGrath and Yorke would be up there. If I had to pick one, then Gareth Barry. Wish he never left, but would love to see him back for just a season.

4) Steve Bruce? Your opinion please?

Well his record at this level speaks for itself, and I genuinely like him. I think it’s been too early to judge him as a manager at Villa, too much rebuilding and stopping the rot. It’s next season where we can really evaluate him, and I hope he can deliver. Tired of constantly changing managers.

5) Best and worst moments of last season?

Can’t think of any real good standout moments, maybe Gabbys goal against Blues. Just the feeling of winning games again and going into games expecting to win was probably the best part of a forgettable season. Worst moment was getting hammered by Brentford after bringing in all the new players. Just a miserable night.

6) Your opinion of Doctor Tony Xia and our CEO Keith Wyness?

I’ve really come to like Dr. Tony throughout the season, he has the passion and ambition, and he’s fun on Twitter. It’s great that he can quash rumours and keep us up to date, I like the transparency. I have no problem with Wyness either, again I like the way he uses Twitter for communication and he seems to be doing a good job.

7) What do you think we need most in the transfer window?

Someone that can get the best out of our strikers. Kodjia can create for himself, but Hogan has been wasted so far. We need someone with brains that can pick out runs.

8) Which player/s should Villa get rid of this summer?

All those out on loan, we should get some decent cash for them. Maybe Amavi if we got a good price. Of course if we do sell him he’ll probably end up at Real Madrid in a few years!

9) Favourite and least favourite current player? (Explanation if you wish)

Hard to have favourites anymore. If I had to pick one I’d go for Hutton. Been at the club a long time, has always carried himself well, and always gives everything, He’s never been a world beater, but you can’t fault his attitude and effort. I don’t really have any least favourites, they all left during the summer!

10) Who was your first footballing hero and who are your favourite all time player/s?

Dean Saunders was my first hero, had his name on my back as a kid on that old Asics jersey. All time favourites would be McGrath, Barry, Staunton, Merson, Taylor, Dublin, Wright, Dalian and Ugo (RIP), and more recently Young, Milner and Benteke.

11) What do you expect us to do/finish this season coming?

I expect us to make a real go of it, no excuses, the playoffs at the very least.

12) You can ask yourself any question you want to about Villa and what is your answer?

Are we by far the best team the world has ever seen? Yes, yes we are.

Just to change the theme slightly, a snap shot of you outside of football, answer or ignore at your leisure:

b) Age: 33
c) Location: Dublin
d) Favourite alcoholic drink: Any beer
e) Favourite non-alcoholic drink: Tea
f) Favourite Film/s: Terminator 2, Aliens, Goodfellas, Lord of The Rings trilogy, Back To The Future trilogy, Shawshank Redemption, Heat, American Psycho, The Commitments, The Snapper….
g) Favourite TV Show/s: The Wire, The Sopranos, Breaking Bad, Twin Peaks, The X-Files, The Leftovers, Silicon Valley, Game of Thrones, anything Alan Partridge, Father Ted…
h) Music?: Metallica, Carcass, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Alice In Chains, Bad Religion, REM, The Smiths, Christy Moore, Tool, Dead Can Dance, Paradise Lost, Faith No More, Joy Division, RATM…..
i) Best ever moment in your life: Nothing really, it’s all been rubbish so far.
j) Ambitions: To become leader of the resistance in the War Against The Machines.
k) Wise words: No one is getting out of here alive, so don’t take life so seriously.
