There & Thereabouts, Or Something – Villa have Established We’re Good At Draws, How About Trying Wins

It’s difficult to know where to begin when it comes to Aston Villa at the moment. Friday evening saw us take to the Ashton Gate pitch as we faced Bristol City and serial irritating mentalist Lee Johnson.

I quite like the short arse to be fair and I think he’s done a cracking job at Oldham, Barnsley and latterly Bristol City, but for some reason, Villa seem to rub the 4ft midget up the wrong way so I can only presume during his playing career we decided that Mark Kinsella was the better player (rightly) and he’s held it against us ever since.

In any event, last night’s 8pm kick-off gave us the opportunity to distract ourselves with an actual game and not the insane and frustrating nonsense that surrounds the club once again.

So how did that go for us as we met up with Nathan Baker and Andi Weimann again?

Well, predictably the hosts took the lead, but we equalised through Birkir Bjarnason in first-half stoppage-time and yup, that was about it.

One win in the last eight, more managerial ructions, more excuses – meh, we started the game with no wingers and ended the match with no strikers, we’re well past round pegs in square holes, I think we’re now trialling triangles.

I’m off for a drink.
