“There’s Much More To Come” – 23 y/o Relishing His Premier League Chance At Villa

|

New Aston Villa permanent capture Kortney Hause sounds ready to make his mark in the Premier League following his switch from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Having come through their system after his transfer from Wycombe Wanderers and become a regular in the side prior to their turn to Portugal and Jorge Mendes, he enjoyed a good spell at Villa in the second half of our successful Championship 2018/19 campaign. After a tricky start, he certainly impressed many with his performances in defence and most feel that for a £3million fee he’s an absolute snip of a transfer.

The Premier League is another adjustment though and he’s one of a few who will be looking to make the step up under head coach Dean Smith in the coming campaign, but in a recent interview with the E&S it’s certainly not a challenge that seems to faze the 23-year-old.

“You hear it all the time that the Premier League is the best league in the world and for me it is. It’s really, really competitive and every game is massive. The pressure is good – that’s what every player dreams of. Now I’ve got an opportunity to play in the Premier League, I’m really really happy and excited and I can’t wait to get started and show people what I’m made of.”

Hause added.

“People say 23 is still young, but I feel I’m ready now to step up to the plate. I don’t feel as though I’m a young boy any more. I can’t wait for pre-season, get my head down, focus and let my football do the talking. There’s much more to come. There’s a lot of ability in the squad, a lot of hunger, people want to do well especially in the biggest league in the world so I feel if we can stay focused, respect the other teams in the league but not fear them, we can achieve something good. It’s crazy, every night I think about the first game of the season, the first game at Villa Park in the Premier League with everyone watching around the world – it’s what you dream about, I just can’t wait to get started.”

Most Villa fans will be confident of a good season ahead, but the main aim is simply survival, even if we all want more than that.

How much more than that we get is open to debate.
