They Are Two Of Our Own – The Aston Villa Image That Speaks A Thousand Words

|

Aston Villa had every reason for optimism going into today’s Championship Play-Off Final with Derby County given our form under new head coach Dean Smith, but despite that optimism the game itself wasn’t good for the heart.

Goals from Anwar El Ghazi and John McGinn ultimately gave us a deserved 2-1 victory but the end to the game was far from comfortable given we had to cope without defensive colossus Tyrone Mings.

We did it though, we are back in the Premier League, the red tops can suck their Financial Fair Play meltdown coverage and Steve Gibson can crawl back into his Tony Pulis inspired hole.

It’s a special evening for everyone associated with the club and the lion finally seems to have woken up once again and we can all rightly have our own thoughts about next season and what the future may hold.

For head coach Dean Smith and Skipper Jack Grealish today obviously holds a little more significant for them but this image will be burnt into our history for ever.
