Midfield enforcer and loveable beard, Mile Jedinak, departed Aston Villa last season as his contract came to a natural end and plenty of fans wished we’d have given him a 12 month extension, even if it was mainly for his leadership and motivation qualities in the dressing room.
Despite football being paused at this moment in time, the former Australian international legend is now back with us at Bodymoor Heath, taking on Academy coaching duties. Following the 35-year-old’s release, he had actually stayed with us to help keep himself fit as he assessed his future options chipping in with the younger lads, but with no new club tickling his fancy and with him being settled in Birmingham, he seems he has now officially joined George Boateng as a coach in our Under 18 group.
Would You Have Him Back In The First Team?
Absolutely

Love Him, But No

Former Chelsea youngster, 17-year-old centre half Paul Appiah, confirmed his coaching position when answering a question from a fan on Instagram.

Defo. Heโs always been a massive professional player, top man, full of values and respect. Thatโs a shame he couldnโt find a new club but very happy to keep him close of our hearts ๐๐ผ

Good, was exactly the right type of character our club needed when we signed him and his experience and professionalism will be a huge asset to the young players. It's great that so many ex players clearly hold a strong affinity for the club when they've moved on ๐

Iโd kill for a beard like the mighty Jed ๐
