Fabian Delph has declared that this is the best he has felt for a long time following his injury issues.

Speaking to the Official Site after being called into the breach on a number of occasions by new manager Paul Lambert, Delph said he was again enjoying his football and physically it’s the best he’s felt for a long time, so he wants that to translate into much better form and consistency now – which to be fair is why he has his doubters in the fanbase as he either looks brilliant at the moment, or very lightweight and anonymous.

To be fair he needs the run of games to get his confidence up, and to get his best form back, but Lambert seems to be content with what he’s giving us at the moment and it’s his opinion that matters.

‘I feel good, I feel stronger than I have in the past. I’ve been working hard and managed to get back in, I’m pleased with that but I want to push on, do better and have a lot more of an impact than I have done. People judge you when you get a run of games and it’s nice to be judged when you are fully fit.’

Maybe a bit of a barb at his knockers who have made their minds up within only a few games of returning to contention, but nowt wrong with a player wanting to prove his doubters wrong and to be fair Delph’s attitude seems spot on here as he does acknowledge that he needs to play a greater role in games when he’s in the team.

Honestly can go a long way in football.

Delph also said that whilst Lambert has given the players a few more days than normal off, the training intensity is no different in the international break as he doesn’t want anybody to lose any sharpness.
