Loan transfer deadline day and it’s no surprise to see centre-half Tommy Elphick feature highly in speculation.

Sky Sports have reported that Hull City have stolen a march on his services and that he’s headed to the club to undergo a medical ahead of a deal seeing him leave for the remainder of the 2018/19 campaign.

With strong speculation linking him with a switch out to Queens Park Rangers, his face just doesn’t fit as whilst most fans agree he was poor when he first arrived, he had improved for them and in no way should’ve been playing second fiddle to Mile Jedinak.

Whilst I don’t believe Jedinak has been as bad as some state, he naturally has his moments in the position and it should’ve been Elphick’s, but if manager Steve Bruce keeps making that mistake it’s best for the 30-year-old to get away from the nonsense and get back on the pitch.

We’ll have to wait and see if there’s a buy option involved and the deal goes through but as I type I’m not seeing confirmation just yet.
