OK so Tony Xia has broken his silence. I have to say I’m not buying what he’s selling. Look at poor me, I’m heartbroken.

Not interested. Many of us are heartbroken by what is going on. That’s his private business. This tweet clears nothing up at all and looks to shift the blame.

I’m not being nasty, I’m just being practical. He says he is a businessman but seems to have no understanding as to how business works. He’s gambled and lost. Now we are in a mess and it’s his mess. Yes, the board can be looked at, for sure they will also take some responsibility but the man who sits at the top of the business is the one who takes the full weight of responsibility. He likes the somewhat baffling hero worshipping for his ridiculous tweets, he obviously likes the thoughts of being a ‘big I am’ and we all wanted him to BE a big I am and bring us success. Instead, frankly, he’s brought us a crisis and much embarrassment.

Harsh?

I don’t think so.

I’m not going to trawl all the way through the reactions to his tweets, you can click a tweet and look yourself, but just a few reactions:

And probably the best and fairest of them all

What a ridiculous way to communicate something so serious. Boy oh boy I hope he sees sense and sells up.

  • Dear MrXia, from ten years of age (now68) I’ve been supporting AV. A remarkable Dunkirk veteran introduced
me this beloved church of AV. I hope you have the courage to come out of this with dignity and either admit
defeat and sell. Your strategy failed . Why hide away . Steve Bruce sadly also came up short with even more outdated tactics. Now isn’t the time to hide away ,leaving this club and the fans with no manager ,no plan,
every day vacant leaves you like Lerner.

  • Funny old game this isn’t it? Just don’t see Twitter is the right place for an owner to communicate (at all really) over something so very serious.
