If you put Villa and Spurs in the same article what do you get? Loads of page views.

So what?

Well, in something totally unrelated (!) to that comment, a report by Sami Mokbel in The Daily Star claims that Spurs boss Appy Arry is so keen to grab Norwegian international John Carew that he will offer Spurs captain Robbie Keane in a swap deal.

Shocked that they haven’t also named Jermaine Jenas and David Bentley in the report as well, surely they could have re-jigged the Nigel Hokey-Cokey to Spurs rumour for the January transfer window? Very sloppy! :o)

The report says Villa would need to pay £5million + He’s Bigger Than Me And You to grab the former Wolves, Coventry, Liverpool, Leeds and Internazionale (Inter Milan if you don’t know!) striker.

Oh damn, should have read the report more closely, they DO mention Bentley as a possible part of the deal, my bad!

Apparently MON is a ‘big fan’ of 29-year-old Keano.

So hey, quiet news day, our latest poll asks if you’d swap Big John for Keano. I would at the drop of a hat purely because JC is a 1 in 10 (or 1 in 7 according to MON) and Keane bleeds for the cause.

All paper talk only though obviously.

Another rumour, not related to Villa but we have been linked with him before, is that Man City striker Roque Santa Cruz, a summer arrival from Blackburn Rovers for £17.5m, might be available for loan with Espanyol keen. One season wonder or worth a try?

In another Vital Villa exclusive, it appears Villa might be on the verge of signing Torres from Liverpool in a shock move. My sources tell me that Torres is a mad keen bus lover and is keen to move to Villa Park due to the Aston Bus Museum and the fact he’s read the Vital forum and seen me mention a few of my mates who are restoring some old buses to their former glory (or as I say it, to be put back to being buses again – public transport is public transport, obviously having Jeeves to chauffeur me around means I don’t have to lower myself)

All the above is 100% true and you can expect to see the movements within the next millennium.
