Aston Villa head into tonight’s Championship clash with Rotherham United looking for a first win in six matches across all competitions.

In that time we have only lost twice, to Burton Albion in the EFL Cup and Sheffield United in the league but a plethora of draws and faltering performances have seen us slip five points clear of Leeds United in top spot.

It is early days in the 2018/19 campaign and there’s more than enough time to turn our form around, but with growing frustration about our style of play (or lack thereof), manager Steve Bruce and our results, a win is needed quickly.

With the pressure on, we all know Bruce will go defensive first rather than playing to our strengths and going balls to the walls in attack, so I can only see this lineup.

Nyland,
Hutton, Chester, Tuanzebe, Taylor,
Bolasie, Hourihane, Jedinak, Adomah,
Grealish,
Abraham.

Basically, the squad we almost finished Blackburn with, but not two up top and we’ll spend longer wondering where players have disappeared to again. I’d love to be wrong though.

Whether that changes when injury news comes in remains to be seen but I can see John McGinn dropping out for Hourihane given Bruce’s words at the weekend.
