First half goals from Harry McKirdy and Jordan Lyden took Aston Villa to victory in last night’s derby with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Jack Grealish made his return to the pitch, taking in an hour, as our youngsters went one better than their senior counterparts at New Bucks Head and although they had opportunities, Wolves rarely really threatened.

With Callum O’Hare and James Bree also on show, manager Steve Bruce was there to take the match in and Villa now find themselves sitting just three points shy of Middlesbrough in the PL2 Division 2 table.

Villa:

Johansson, Bree (Bedeau 63), Suliman, Finnerty, Borg, Doyle-Hayes, Lyden, Blackett-Taylor, O`Hare, Grealish (Cox 60), McKirdy (Knibbs 85).
