United Slump Doesn’t Make Life Easy

Curtis Davies has said that in many ways Man U’s mini slump of late will make them even more dangerous on Sunday.

Speaking on the official site, the former ‘pub player’ said the squad will really need to believe in itself if we hope to get anything from the match, adding that United will be looking to bounce back after their own disappointments of late.

‘I actually think it’s made even harder by the fact that they have lost their last two games and will look to win to keep Liverpool at arm’s length.

‘They have three suspensions to key players – Wayne Rooney, Nemanja Vidic and Paul Scholes – but they’re able to bring in international replacements in all those positions. This just shows the depth of their squad.

‘But we have to be positive. We certainly can’t feel too sorry for ourselves after the defeat at Anfield.

‘We have to stay positive about our top four chances too. If we don’t we might as well give up now.

‘We have had a bad March but we have to stay mentally strong and pick up as many wins as possible. We can’t worry what Arsenal or Everton are doing.’

We need a performance of the season, and the fans certainly deserve one. We could get our season back on track with a result against Man U and it would set us up nicely for Everton.

but it’s not going to be easy, and there’s every chance Sunday could be more disappointing than the Liverpool match.

But if we go out there, play our own game, play for 90 minutes and not 45, and actually fight and battle, whatever the result the fans will be behind them.

If they go out there clueless, give up, and we end up with two strikers in defence I’ll be taking the weekend off.
