Martin O’Neill has described the result in today’s game against Everton ‘as a fair reflection’ of the match itself.

He continues to call it an ‘intense battle’ and he’s entitled to his opinion, in many ways I wish I could have those 90 minutes back.

Again we didn’t really turn up, we had few ideas when on the attack and the movement was pretty much pathetic.

I know others will disagree but we can be thankful that Everton played so poorly to be honest.

All that said, a draw was the fair result as neither side really deserved much from the match.

Speaking on the official site following the match, the gaffer added:

‘Obviously I’m delighted we got something out of the game.

‘We got back into it in the second half and I thought we might have gone on to win it, but on reflection I think a draw was a fair result.’

Onwards and upwards, performances can’t get much worse than those that we are seeing at the moment but we are dragging out the results and the points.
