With Jack Grealish missing out on Aston Villa EFL Cup victory against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Wednesday evening, speaking after the game, head coach Dean Smith gave a positive update on our 24-year-old star given we now turn our attentions to the Premier League clash with Liverpool this coming weekend.
Jack, as we know, limped off late on in the second half during our last clash with Manchester City, and he was spotted leaving the ground on crutches but it was hoped that was just precautionary.

Speaking to the Official Site following the game, Smith confirmed it was a calf probelm and said of Jack’s chances of being fit for the next one.
“Jack is okay. He’s pushing to be fit for Saturday. He’s responded really well to treatment. He was here today. He’s getting there. I am very, very hopeful that will be fit for the weekend.”
It’ll obviously be a big boost if he remains in contention for the game against Jurgen Klopp’s side as we all know how tough a match it will be given the form they are in, so we’ll just have to keep our fingers crossed.
Good win tonight from the boys. In to the hat for the next round 🤩⚽️ #AVFC
