Yannick Bolasie bore the brunt of criticism from supporters after Aston Villa suffered a 3-0 defeat to Wigan Athletic. The winger has struggled for consistency ever since joining the club on loan from Everton and Saturday was no different.
Can Villa afford a Kodjia transfer?
Adomah, El Ghazi, and Bolasie have all been underwhelming or disappointing to varying degrees. #avfc

Bolasie hasn't performed (whilst on huge wages), El Ghazi has looked lost since the WBA game, Hourihane is going through a horrible patch of form and we don't have a single CDM at the club who can distribute and carry the ball, and that's not even getting started on the defence.

Inept show from #avfc. Taylor, Bolasie & El Ghazi were very poor. Sub Hause was off the pace and why Whelan was introduced when another striker might’ve changed our luck cost us dear.
Our squad options need to be so much better – or a 4th @SkyBetChamp season’s in the offing.

Bolasie's final ball is woeful 90%+ of the time. #AVFC

I would cancel Bolasie loan. Believe we could better spend his wage elsewhere #AVFC

El Ghazi did have some decent runs, but Bolasie, for such an experienced player, often completely loses his head when he gets near goal. Not good value for money today that's for sure.

Jonathan Kodjia is light years better than Bolasie, El Ghazi and Adomah combined. If he leaves I’ll be so disappointed. #AVFC

Bolasie made three dribbles on the day but failed to register a shot on target, created only one chance and attempted just 24 passes in 90 minutes (completing 71% of them). He also had five unsupported touches – more than any of his teammates – and gave away two fouls.
The 29-year-old has made 20 Championship appearances for Villa this season, scoring and creating six goals. Bolasie has created 19 chances and made 21 successful dribbles, but he’s clearly not recaptured his form since picking up a serious knee injury.
Bolasie has only completed 42% of his dribbles, has made 43 unsuccessful touches and been dispossessed on 25 occasions. His spot in the Villa side could see be up for grabs if he continues to turn in below-par performances. Saturday’s defeat sees Dean Smith’s men sitting 12th in the table, five points adrift of the playoffs.
