A pretty scruffy, scrappy game but hey, with injuries, illness and a total lack of atmosphere from us lot (well, I criticise players enough for not putting in the effort, only right I criticise us as well innit?!) to get away with a point wasn`t bad really.

Games like this in the last few seasons, we`d have been guaranteed to lose and we could so easily have nicked it towards the end with Alan Hutton close to a screamer and Big Keinan Davis missing a good chance as well.

As the commentator says in these highlights, there seemed to be a lack of urgency from Villa. Wouldn`t a banging atmosphere from us have maybe changed that?

It is a bit inexplicable though how the players seemed, having been on such a great run, so muted. Bruce was far from muted on the touchline and at times very far from impressed.

Hey ho, still only one loss in nine, just need to beat Sheffield Wednesday this weekend and Villa will be back on track.

PNE goal 4 mins in. Not sure why Johnstone felt the need to punch the ball away? He did make up for it with a few very good saves later mind you.

Villa penalty on 7 mins. Cooly taken by Grabban. Nicely earned from Davis, although for me, the game has changed too much if that`s a penalty! lol

10 mins 20 seconds, lovely move with Davis very involved, sadly his final shot wasn`t buried. But good skills in the build up.

  • Agreed, scrappy performance. I thought that the ball came off their player for the ‘corner’ from which they scored. Its also a shame that Keinon is not a natural goal scorer. Some nice touches from Grabban. I was surorised he took the pen, but no messing
