The debate rumbles on, the funny thing is, we don’t even know if the link to Rangers boss Steven Gerrard is even true or not, but it is all that seems to be filling the press at the moment, and our ‘who next’ message board threadf.

It is one of those appointments really, coming in following the departure of a still popular manager in Dean Smith, that sort of doesn’t overwhelm but also doesn’t underwhelm isn’t it?
The main drawback for many seems to be he will use us as a stepping stone to get to Liverpool FC. But if he does, as long as he is here for a reasonable time, it will surely mean he’s done well for us and we will also be at the next level? Is there any loyalty in the game anyway, did we show any to Dean Smith? Did that fella who left us in the summer, Joe Something-Or-Other show any?
Moot point for me I think. Just get someone in who can get us back up the league, build more in the summer and for goodness sake, someone, anyone, get us the FA Cup before I am pushing up the daisies.
