Fans reactions:

This is getting beyond disappointing, it’s just upsetting. Not saying I want Bruce out as what’s the point, but surely a manager will turn up to save this club at some point otherwise I can only see a slow decent down the leagues. A relegation battle is definitely more likely than promotion this season.

Sacked in the morning? …. or as my mate correctly pointed out ‘Why wait till morning?’

Black comedy. Saturday I was angry and upset. Today I have lost caring. It’s sad but my body goes into do not care mode as I know stress is dangerous. Bruce out end of season.
Ali Arab

Oh dear, another sleepless night. 22 attempts, with only one goal to show for them. I think this was the best lineup we could have played and yet so very very upset and depressed. I really am stuck for words. It really isn’t good enough. Apart from Tom Bradshaw, there wasn’t another player in their team that I’d really heard of, what’s going on? But……..VTID!

What a waste of money come to mind, wonder Dr Tony is thinking the same?

Well done Barnsley, Hope that’s proved we really are in dreamland about returning to the prem, Also i hope its put a bullet in Dr Xia’s gun that will finally do Steve Bruce a favour and send him to his rocking chair where he belongs.

Prepare for Div 1 7 points off the bottom 3 and looking at the fixture list I can’t see any team we will get points from. We’ve been here before a long time ago and came back but a lot of patience is going to be needed.
HonestDave

Good God. I didn’t go today. Totally fair play to those of you that did, I honestly applaud you. 26.5 thousand fans who are either single or are married or dating the most disillusional women on the planet. It’s horrible watching our fall…excruciating, ghastly and worst of all, relentless. I can’t see the bottom…

Please don’t start writing off all or too many of our players, that’s been Villa’s problem for ages and Bruce is another guilty as charged. Lowton, Traore, Bent, Ayew, Gestede, McCormack, Collini, Westwood, Clarke – all seem better elsewhere. Equally Baker, Chester, Amavi looked good alongside Hutton the trier for several games until they got infected with the Villa lurgy. Hourihane, Lansbury, Adomah, and Kodja, are I think all good players too. The problem IS the management and coaching staff. Look at Clement at Swansea, Silva at Hull, even McClaren at Derby have been able to come in and turn things round. The players need to somehow scrape us over the line this season, and if Warnock was around and available he would be just what we need. What really gets me is this 4 promotions rubbish and know-all pundits saying if Bruce goes it must show there is something else bigger wrong with the club. Come on, see what we see – if he ever was the man, he’s not now. The game has moved on. We are better than this. Our players are better than this. They can perform. We just need someone who can spark them to do so. Utvv!

Villaiain, I’m upset and want Bruce out. This is a joke and we are a joke.

From bad to worse, any thoughts of putting some of the youngsters in defence, they would probably do better???? couldn’t do worse. As for Bruce if things don’t improve by game 46 its P45 time, we have to come out of this season with confidence ready for next.

He’ll persist with his poor selections and gabby will be back in line up soon.

While I do agree that some of the decisions that Bruce has made are bewildering, I don’t think sacking him now is the answer. But one thing I would question and nobody seems to do is the Colin Calderwood impact. The team were flying up until the Brighton game after which Calderwood started. What has happened in training since then? The defence are getting worse with every game. The team is completely unbalanced on the left hand side, personally I would like to see Taylor come in at left back when fit and move Amavi up to left wing to deliver crosses with Adomah on the right. Hogan up front and Kodjia playing in behind. Grealish can sit on the bench then until he realises he wants to work hard and be a professional footballer.
Cronola

Agreed Cronola. One of our major problems is the coaching and how much SB is really involved in that is a good question. Another major issue is still midfield. We are not dominating matches despite all the ‘talent’ that we probably believe we have. It is not possible to dominate any football game unless you have control of midfield. Sorry but I cannot see the logic in playing only two real midfield players as we did last night ( Grealish and Adomah are NOT midfielders ). Replace one of them with either Jedinak when fit or Gardner would give us better control in the middle and far more balance.
