We are one of four teams tracking Carpi defender Tobias Pachonik, according to Turkish-Football.com.
The German only moved to Italy from Schalke last August, but he is available on a free transfer this summer following the end of his one year contract.
Carpi do have the option of extending his deal for a further two years, so it is unlikely he would be leaving for nothing, but it hasn’t stopped us “keeping tabs” on the 23-year-old, Turkish-Football believes.
A source close to the player is said to have told the website that we are one of the clubs that have shown an interest in the right-back, along with Southampton, Eintracht Frankfurt and Fiorentina.
Pachonik was a regular for his club in Serie B last season, racking up 36 appearances in the league, and providing three assists.
With Carpi’s contract option, it doesn’t seem like a straightforward deal for us to make, and it must be said the right side of defence isn’t a priority for us with both Ahmed Elmohamady and James Bree already on the club’s books.
