Aston Villa’s top scorer Milan Baros says this has been his worst season in England.

Baros, who scored a brace in the 3-1 victory over Birmingham City, said:

‘Injury hasn’t helped but you’ve also got to bear in mind this is my first season at the club. It hasn’t been my best season. I would say it’s been my worst season in England. I will try to do my best in the future and, hopefully, things will improve. It’s been frustrating for me because I’ve had some injuries which have held me back.’

He also looks positively to the future and who knows, it might even be at Villa!

‘As a team we’re definitely looking for a better season in 2006-2007 because there are some good players here – it’s a solid squad and has a good mixture of experience and youth. ‘I want now to play my best football’ ‘We will see what is going to happen after the World Cup. I am just thinking about Villa. Nothing else is in my mind now.’

Hmmm. With Villa hard up for cash and the big boys looking, I’m not sure our chances of keeping Baros for next season are any better than 50/50.

Baros has 8 Premiership goals (equal with Luke Moore), 3 FA Cup goals and 1 League Cup goal. He has started 21 games (being replaced in 7), been on the bench 3 times and came on all 3 times.
