Villa Boost As Hungry Player Returns

The good news just keeps on flowing at Villa Park these days.

Looks like the squad has just taken another boost as former Czech internatinal Patrik Berger has declared himself fit following months of injury woes.

He told the official site: ‘I want to start on Sunday against West Ham – that’s how hungry I am. The calf is fine and I feel genuinely fine. I’ve been training every day with the boys for the last two weeks – I can do everything now – so I’m fully-fit now, injury-wise, providing it stays as it is. I played 70 minutes of the practice game (behind closed door friendly v Lincoln) on Tuesday and felt fine. I’m pleased with the situation.’

Adding: ‘I wouldn’t be able to play a full game, without a doubt, and the management team are aware of that, but I can play some part. I’m ready for the first team now, but it’s the staff’s decision.’

Good luck to the fella, he’s had awful luck over the years for such a brilliant player, even if he can only manage 20-30 mins as a sub he is another decent option for the short term.
