Villa CEO Becomes Trustee At Cure Leukaemia

Aston Villa Football Club CEO, Paul Faulkner, and BBC Radio and TV presenter, Phil Upton, are set to become new Trustees at the Birmingham-based blood cancer charity, Cure Leukaemia.

The charity, which funds research nurses to enable patients to access potentially lifesaving, ground breaking drugs and treatments, named the pair as its newest Trustees following their continued support.

Mr Faulkner and the club have been involved in supporting the charity and raising awareness of the disease following the diagnosis of club captain, Stiliyan Petrov, of acute leukaemia earlier this year. Phil Upton has been a dedicated committee member and keen supporter at numerous Cure Leukaemia fundraising events since it was established in 2003.

Their support to date has been hugely appreciated, and their experience and knowledge of the West Midlands business community will be vital as we continue to grow and develop over the coming years.”

Phil Upton adds: “I`ve been actively involved with the charity since its formation in 2003 and I am committed to doing anything I can to help raise awareness of the wonderful work it does as it gears up to celebrate its 10th Anniversary. Cure Leukaemia is a charity close to my heart and I`m looking forward to fulfilling my role as a Trustee.”
