Villa Confirm Youngsters Permanent Departure

|

Following the speculation about James Bree and a possible move to Championship side Luton Town doing the rounds as August came to a close, earlier this afternoon Aston Villa confirmed that the former Barnsley youngster had now officially completed his switch to Kenilworth Road.

22-year-old Bree moves for an undisclosed fee and he’ll be looking to kick on further now following his successful 42 game loan spell out with them in the 2019/20 campaign where they avoided relegation on the final day.

In his three and a half year spell at Villa, he made a total of 28 appearances for us, with the last of those coming in January 2019.

Sadly, despite his promise, it just hasn’t worked out as we’d have hoped but the deal overall you’d hope sees us mostly make our money back, and looking at how some have progressed since leaving the club you’d definitely hope we’ve got a clause in there on any future transfer.
