Aston Villa have seen a few youngsters announce their departures from the club this last week and on Sunday evening, Under 23 Academy graduate Alex Prosser confirmed he was another lad off for pastures new.
The 20-year-old made 16 appearances for our Under 23 setup this season, returning one goal and for those that follow our underage groups, he’s been a very familiar name as he rose through our ranks.
Taking to social media on Sunday evening, Prosser offered his thanks to the club following his 12 year journey with us, but confirmed that time had now come to an end.
@BrackleyTownFC gutted ending the season not getting the reward the team thoroughly deserved, but the club have been nothing but great with me during my first loan experience where I’ve met some great friends and I can’t thank them enough.????⚪️ pic.twitter.com/WI6lVtHDnC

I’d actually missed this loan, but he went out on a short spell with Brackley Town back in March and the experience was obviously a decent one for him and should do him the world of good as he looks to impress another club and get himself back on track now.
Always a difficult time of year as youngsters move on, but Villa certainly appear to be making a raft of changes now. He got a fine send off from the fans who responded to his message, wishing him the best of luck for the future.
