Villa defender (and right-back yesterday against Inter Milan) Gary Cahill has said he thought there would be more new players in by now.
‘I do understand how the Villa fans are feeling because I personally thought there were going to be a lot more arrivals. Nobody knows what is going to happen. The transfer window is going to be open for a few more weeks. Football being football, you never know. There could be four players coming in one week. I don’t know what the manager’s plans are but obviously he is going to be cracking on with whatever he’s doing behind the scenes. I think it’s just a matter of being patient.’
There are rumours of a big announcement tomorrow with Curtis Davis of West Bromwich Albion being one of the possible arrivals or the much linked Hearts keeper Craig Gordon who is reportedly a £7million target.
Another report says Villa have turned down Napoli who enquired about John Carew who was missing yesterday with a groin strain.

I have a feeling it will only be one
Well in all honesty we need at least four more players, GK and RBx2 anything else will be a Bonus….
Well nofin has happened yet n it is monday. :*(, oh well he probs asleep (MON)
things might happen today after mid day and if nothing happens today I wont listen to talk sport ever again
Where did the rumour of a big announcement today originate?
Is it reliable?
Someone said it on the Forum
According to BBC Sport we are in talks with Gordon today, but so are Sunderland.
We’ll sadly at the moment it looks like we have missed out o0n him but there are better keepers out there
Why have we missed out on him Christo? He hasn’t held talks with either us or Sunderland yet has he?
Gary Cahill is merely expressing the surprise shared by players and supporters alike. Well said that man.
Well he is having a medical
according to talk sport Gordon is at Sunderland for 2 days then he will be at villa later in the week before he makes a choice who to sign for. But i heard something quite worrying today that MON has spent his budget and has to sell to buy. i hoe its press talk.
That is press tlk because am ure Randy would of gave us more then £12m to spend
lets hope so christo
positive Randy will give us more then that He proberly has given us £30m to spend
Thats Gary Cahill, Olof Mellberg, and Gareth Barry, all of who have openly expressed surprise at the lack of incoming players. Would imagine that the dressing room are pretty much united in their surprise, and dare I say it, concern.
reminds me of the letter incident of last year
