Villa End Hull’s Winning Streak But Problems Remain Obvious – Match Stats

Aston Villa went into today’s Championship clash against Hull City looking to get back to winning ways.

Head coach Dean Smith’s side were without a win in the last three and were looking to show plenty of improvements following the heavy 3-0 defeat to Wigan Athletic in our last game to get our Play-Off hopes back on track.

After a reasonably bright start, our leaky defence were up to some old tricks and the visitors opened the scoring just ahead of the half-hour mark. Hull quickly made it 2-0, but James Chester did claw one back in the 45th minute to give us some hope in the second half.

We made it 2-2 in the 64th minute as Tammy Abraham got his name on the scoresheet again and that was where the scoring on the day ended.

We continue to be pretty decent at one end of the pitch and utterly woeful at the other.

It should be said though, the draw stopped Hull from making it seven wins on the spin, so they came into the game in very good form and confidence and confidence is something we again look like we’re lacking.
