Villa skipper Gareth Barry says the Villa faithful can make all the difference tonight.
The soon to be (or if not sack McClaren!) England midfielder told the official site: ‘Of course 6,000 fans can make a difference. The fact that we played so well down there recently can also give us a lot of confidence going into the game. The fans were superb at Leicester in the last round and I’m sure they’ll make loads of noise again tonight. They can play a big part.’
‘But it’s still Chelsea and we have to be at our very best to get anything from the game. We played well when we drew 1-1 there and we’ll need at least a repeat.’
Adding ‘This is a competition we take very seriously. It’s our quickest route into Europe and that’s where everyone wants to be playing next season. But Chelsea away was as tough a draw as we could have been given and we will have to be at our very best to get through to the next round. We’re not underestimating the task.’
