Operations director Steve Stride says the Villa fans now have what they want with new owners, a new manager and of-course, an unbeaten run!

He explains that the takeover has gone well and ‘It has been a very smooth transition and what the new board have brought with them is tremendous enthusiasm for the club. That’s not just at matches. I’ve been exchanging a lot of emails with the directors during the week and they have been following everything from a distance.’
‘The Browns played at Oakland last Sunday and got their first win of the season. But the day before, I got an email from them saying they were at a bar in San Francisco watching the Chelsea game.’

‘It helps that they’re already involved in sport and are realistic. But the supporters now have the three things they were calling out for last season – a new manager, new owners and an unbeaten run.

‘It’s been a busy period. But I’ve enjoyed it and the whole place has been re-energised. Martin O’Neill helps as the face of the club. He firmly believes we are a genuine ‘sleeping giant’. He’s hands-on and sees things through to completion.’

  • I havent completely got what I want. I’d like to see Stride gone. He’s been lucky to escape the purge, for reasons I understand, but I feel he’s let the club down badly in recent years by looking after number one.
