With Aston Villa’s kit deal coming to an end with Under Armour, the club have confirmed that we have struck a new novel partnership with a local Villa lad ahead of the new campaign.
We have teamed up with Fanatics, a global leader in performance sports kit and premium menswear brand Luke 1977 in a three-party deal.

Something new here.. be interesting what a Villa fan can come up with design wise for the new kit. #avfc #utv https://t.co/f6OvAvtCGX

It’s certainly a novel way of approaching kits. Fans often comment on the quality of shirts produced but I can’t think of many kits in recent years that haven’t drawn some criticism for the generic stock designs kicked out by the major players as often you don’t need to look far across the UK or Europe to see the same design with different club colours. Fans always want more of a personal touch hence the surveys we’ve had in recent years, but they have only had limited success in pleasing fans, so hopefully, this tie-in will go one step further.
New kit partners: We’re proud to announce that @LukeRoper and Fanatics are #PartOfThePride 🦁🤝

This agreement should see us come up with something unique to us, modern yes but possibly elements of a throwback or two to our history. Talk of a return to the round badge quickly made an appearance, but with copyright issues sadly we can’t expect that and this is a kit deal, not a badge redesign.

For the most part, this news has been warmly greeted amongst the fanbase, but with kit issues in recent times some are hesitant and have concerns so it’s all eyes to what the designs look like now. No pressure or anything!
