Please use the £6m to buy 10 midfielders from League 2 at £600k each. Then hopefully one of them will take Westwood or Flabby in exchange as a goodwill gesture…:)

Sadly I feel this is a poor decision, Gestede provided something different. Something well proven in the division we are in.

Never used right so can’t really judge but this is going to be a little silly if we now do sign Rhodes. Whether either can hack it in the Prem isn’t the question, a fantastic partnership at this level and might have been the answer to the best of both of them in the top flight. Fingers crossed for me.

Maybe it was a case of mistaken identity when we signed Gestede instead of Rhodes. I remember when we signed Cascarino and not Sheringham…

Then just as likely with Blackburn wanting £6m more for Rhodes, good Ol Timmy wanted the spare for Adama Traore who he’d watched since the beginning of time before deciding he was one of the players he didn’t want when that amazing (and ever changing list depending on which media outlet carried it) came to light 🙂

Boro have coached / are coaching and improving Traore. Gestede is not raw, and played properly (as he will at Boro) he will be decent again, and help keep them up.

Wish him all the best. Did loads of unheralded work in the local community and hospital. And remember the goal against Vermingham? And the one at Bournemouth at the start of another false dawn? Two more ‘sparks’ than Flabby will ever give us……..
