bbc.co.uk/sport has a few quotes from Ipswich manager Paul Jewell about supposed Villa target Aaron Cresswell.

(See: Ipswich defender Aaron Cresswell: Click Here )

Seems Jewell would like to keep the 22-year-old defender.

He doesn`t rule out considering offers if any come but says they don`t want to sell their best players.

He also says that Paul Lambert spoke to his assistant at Ipswich the other day but Lambert didn`t mention anything or make any enquiries as to Creswell.

He does admit contact though:

He told BBC Radio Suffolk, a regular listen in the Fear household, ‘The club have had contact, not through the manager, asking what his situation is. The situation is that we want to keep him.’

Adding, ‘We don’t want to sell Cressy. We bought him, we developed him and I’ve told him that if we get an offer that we have to consider, then we’ll consider it but we don’t encourage any offers.’

  • So unless we slap an offer of approx £6million they won’t sel him it seems, maybe we could strike a deal based upon appearences intenational call ups etc and offer an initial £3.5million with the add ons on top?

  • Maybe throw in a loan deal for enda Stevens as part of the deal, good for all parties…then get rid of warnock…

  • Good idea that villaiain Enda Stevens etting some fist team compeertive action plus Ipswich geting a replacement for Cresswel for nothing.

  • Personally I think some lower league loan time would be good for Stevens, Williams, siegrist and Johnson.

  • Keep Stevens, you need competition for places. If they want anything near 6mil it would definitely add ons etc that make up the 6mil
