Villa Have Nothing To Fear At Old Trafford?!?!?

Usually I take these articles with a pinch of salt and think it is good to read positive things from players, but come on, this is taking the biscuit surely, or am I just turning into an old git!?

Brad Guzan says that Villa don’t have anything to fear from our trip to Old Trafford to take on Manchester United.

I can tell you they do. I was up there last season, a soaking wet day, an expensive trip and all we as Villa fans got to see was a footballing lesson. It was humiliating, as usual! It is all well and good talking a good game, now they have to convert that to playing a good game at the Theatre of blinking Nightmares.

My one mate has been going since 1985, season on season, apart from the break we got when we were in the old Second Division (!), and has yet to see us win. So Villa should go with a good dose of fear and realism and then get totally stuck in, kick lumps out of the opponents if needs be but SHOW SOME GUTS instead of standing back admiring the view! There is no need for us to have as bad a record as we have against them and it will take some good old fashioned sweat and toil to set the record straight.

Brad said on AVTV: ‘They are a great team with great players but I don’t think there is any reason why we can’t go there and find a way to get a result. We’ve proved numerous times throughout this year that we are capable of playing good teams and getting good results. Each one from here to the end is going to be a big game for us, so there is no reason we can’t start a bit of a run against Manchester United. All the games from here on are huge games with the race so close. We know this is long from over and we have to make sure we get our mentality right.’

I do so hope he is right, past performances suggest otherwise but one day, we’ve got to go there and win surely? Will that day be this coming Sunday? Gulp…
