Villa have sent out a pr to explain to Villans why they’ll be no hot potatoes at the ground for a while.
Thank the good lord Paul McGrath that we have diligent councillors and brave men and women fighting to keep us safe – some of you might remember the dark days of football when, believe it or not, it was legal to take bottle tops into games with your drink bottles. Hard to believe really isn’t it? I’ve seen many faithful fans fall by the way side due to this insanity.
Still, we are being protected by those great health and safety people – I believe they are also doing a feasibility study into giving us all cotton wool outfits for when we go to games, to make sure we don’t bump into each other and suffer serious injuries like a little bruise or something equally as frightening.
Anyway, the long and short of it is the club have been playing with our lives and here is why:
Villa have been forced to remove the jacket potato carts that had proved popular at the stadium over the past few weeks.
The carts, which sold jackets on the lower Holte and lower Trinity Road stands, had been really well received and were greeted favourably on many supporter blogs.
Unfortunately, they are now deemed unsafe by Birmingham City Council’s safety advisor and we have to remove them immediately. Villa officials are meeting next week to see if there is a way of bringing them back next season in a safe and secure way.
Madness Villa, be ashamed and while you are at it, remove the candy floss machines, they are a real hazard and can result in sticky fingers or even worse, fluff in hair.
Insanity, I’m not sure I will take the risk of coming to a game again, I just can’t take the risk.
