Stuart Taylor has told the official site he is ‘absolutely gutted’. Good grief, the operation was more extensive than I’d first thought.

The luckless former Arsenal keeper, who was highly rated by the Gunners goalkeeper coach Bob Wilson, picked up a knee injury that has since required knee surgery following the Monday night clash against Sheffield United.

Having only just been given the opportunity of a first team run following the injury to Thomas Sorensen Taylor said:

‘I’m absolutely gutted, there’s no other word for it. I can’t believe this has happened just as I was getting a run in the team. Thomas’ injury meant I was getting a chance to prove myself for the first time, but it was obviously not meant to be. It’s a real kick in the teeth.’

‘There’s nothing I can do about it though. I just have to focus on getting back to full fitness as quickly as possible, then I can push Thomas for the shirt again.’
