Earlier this afternoon Aston Villa made it two wins from two in the Championship season of 2018/19.
Goals from James Chester and Birkir Bjarnason, with an own goal thrown in for good measure, was enough to put a lively Wigan Athletic to the sword in a 3-2 win on Villa Park soil. Ahhh remember the fun we had over the summer wondering if we’d even have a turf to play on! Good old days.
We may have had the greater chances on the day so arguably victory was deserved, but Wigan will no doubt be wondering how they failed to take a point following their own efforts on the day.
