It’s been a fair old time since we last saw Keinan Davis kick a ball in anger, but he was back out on the pitch for last nights Under 23 clash between Aston Villa and Stoke City at Marston Road.
Making the trip to the Potters for the tie, it was the last clash of the year for the second string and we were in search of back to back wins to maintain a spot in the Play-Offs in the Premier League 2 Division 2 competition.
Tonight's team news for our U23s as we face @StokeCity here at Marston Road, kick-off 7pm

The starting lineup raised a few eyebrows as we were able to call on 20-year-old Davis for the first time in months as he continues his recovery from a hip injury, and he was joined by the likes of Dominic Revan, Jacob Bedeau, Jake Doyle-Hayes, Rushian Hepburn-Murphy and Callum O’Hare as a few other issues cleared up.
There was also a surprise appearance for Port Vale loanee Mitch Clark – who remains eligible for Under 23 matches despite the loan spell.
We did, unfortunately, lose out 3-2 on the evening and our consolation strikes came from RHM and Jacob Ramsey, but they nicked it late on after we’d battled back from being 2-0 down.
A decent run out for a few players though and sometimes you have to take the simple positives.
