Tuesday evening at The Hawthorns proved to be an interesting, lively and thoroughly nervy evening as Aston Villa made the trip to West Bromwich Albion for the second leg of our Championship Play-Off Semi-Final.

The hosts got the only goal of regulation time to send us to extra time and then penalties, but justice was done as Jed Steer made up for some wobbles with two fantastic penalty saves, and the rest, as they say, is history.

The game again had plenty of talking points and we dominated, yet struggled to carry a clinical edge – although arguably former Villan Sam Johnstone had kept them in it when we did find a way through – but one talking point was a second sending off, this time for Chris Brunt, again for two bookable offences.

Fans on both sides will debate whether it was just, whether it should’ve happened earlier given the performance of the referee, but Jonathan Kodjia had his own unique take on events.
