Villa On The Up

Had to post something positive today, so here it is, Villa fan Lee Lindsay in a conversation with a Blue Nose:

I do feel that Villa next season will be a threat to any club with the changes/investment that’s currently going on.

We’re no longer a team who will even accept midtable mediocracy. We’re going to be banging Bolton, Everton, Spurs and Blackburn out of the way to the Uefa Cup next season. Randy is proving his worth with a Nike Sponsorship deal, new ground facilities and resource, the best training ground in Europe, a big international sponsorship deal for 08/09 season in the making….. These are not incremental changes, they are gigantic leaps in progress. The new badge, the new slogan, the new shirt design, the new interest, the reduction in ticket prices, the increased fans and tv coverage….

I’m not piping up, but this season although it’s been average and poor for the mid-section, we have only lost less games than the top 5. The class of Laursen speaks for itself, if we can keep him fit and the promise of 4 or 5 big signings in the summer is only going to provide us with further strength and depths. Our young startlets our proving themselves, our highest goal scorer Gabriel Agbonlahor, Luke Moore, and Craig Gardner are doing the business… They are going to be more experienced, stronger and have to work harder to get in the squad next season.

Although we should be proud of Midlands football on a turn around, I think in 2 seasons the Holte Faithfull will see a return to Silverware and fans abusing cheap European flights to watch our boys back where they belong!
