The club are looking at a possible deal for Plymouth Argyle goalkeeper Michael Cooper, according to the Football Insider.

Premier League side Brighton are also believed to be keen on signing the teenager, with both teams said to see the 18-year-old as one for the future.

Football Insider are not the most reliable of sources so take this with a pinch of salt, but there is no doubt that Cooper is a promising young talent.

The keeper made his senior debut for Argyle mid-way through last season and was the League One side’s second choice for the majority of the campaign despite his inexperience.

Cooper’s only appearance came as a substitute, replacing Kyle Letheren in the second half of the 1-1 draw against Blackburn Rovers back in October.

He also played two rounds of the FA Youth Cup in the win over Burnley and a defeat in extra time to Fulham. Due to his lack of games at senior level though, it’s unlikely he would be put into the first team if we do sign him.

The Express & Star are reporting that Steve Bruce and Steve Round are waiting for the go-ahead from Tony Xia before making moves for their transfer targets this summer.
